The West Des Moines Community School seeks a collaborative leader to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer. Working with and reporting to the Superintendent, the Chief Human Resources Officer will join a leadership team that is committed to the principle of continuous improvement and excellence in creating and maintaining a learning community. The Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for administering the human resource functions of the district.

Be a caring and motivational team builder who possesses effective communication, collaboration and facilitation skills
Possess the ability and desire to work with civic, business and corporate leaders in strengthening support for and relations with the district
Have highly successful experience with recruitment, selection, mentoring and evaluation of employees
Implements initiatives related to all aspects of equity inclusion and diversity for candidates and employees.
Have the skills necessary to mediate and utilize conflict resolution to successfully address personnel issues.
Be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations pertaining to employee management and relations
Have the skills necessary to mediate and utilize conflict resolution to successfully address personnel issues.
Specialist level degree in Educational Leadership, Juris doctorate or related education.
Eligible for Iowa Superintendent endorsement, Juris doctorate, or comparable certification and evaluator approval.

1:1 devices. WDMCS provides a Chromebook for every student in grades 3-12.
Foreign language classes. Students begin learning Spanish in fourth grade, and our high school offers more foreign languages than nearly any other school in Iowa. Incoming kindergartners can also register for our Dual Language Spanish Immersion program, starting with the 2018-19 school year.
Award-winning arts programs. WDMCS students can join orchestra as early as fourth grade, band as early as fifth grade, and show choir starting in seventh grade. Valley High School provides high-quality co-curricular opportunities in theater, art, and music and was the first Grammy® Signature School award winner.
